On Saturday, October 4th, during the second day of the 10th ASE Annual Meeting, the awarding committee, composed by Mattia Bertazzini (University of Nottingham), Giovanni Favero (Ca' Foscari), and Giulia Mancini (University of Sassari), announced the winner of the 2025 edition of the Francesca Carnevali Prize.

The Francesca Carnevali Prize is awarded every year to the best Bachelor and Master of Science thesis in economic history. In its first meeting, ASE decided to dedicate this prize for young economic historians to the memory of Francesca Carnevali (1964-2013).

This year, the prize went to Callum McGurk, for his Bachelor dissertation, defended at the Newcastle University, The Napoleonic Wars and the Geopolitical Pattern of Britain’s Commodity Trade. Well done Callum!
