PhD opportunities in Economic History at the Tuscan Universities

We are happy to announce that the second Call for application for the PhD in Economics at the Tuscan Universities (Siena in partnership with the Universities of Florence and Pisa) is now open.

We welcome applicants from all fields of economics, including economic history. NB: the second CFA concerns two places that are not linked to specific topics, and two places that are (loosely) linked to specific themes (which can be themselves tailored to EH research):

1. The effectiveness of innovation-oriented industrial policies (restricted research topic; 3-month internship at the Bank of Italy).

 2. The impact of artificial intelligence on work and employment (restricted research topic; 3-month internship at IRPET).

Each candidate is free to submit a research proposal (max 8 pages). Supervisors are chosen during the first year, giving candidates the freedom to shape their own research path.
