Johann Ohler wins the 2024 Carnevali Prize

On Friday, September 13th, during ASE Social Dinner of the 9th ASE Annual Meeting, the awarding committee, composed by Andrea Colli (Bocconi University), Paolo Di Martino (University of Turin), and Giulia Mancini (University of Sassari), announced the winner of the 2024 edition of the Francesca Carnevali Prize.

The Francesca Carnevali Prize is awarded every year to the best Bachelor and Master of Science thesis in economic history. In its first meeting, ASE decided to dedicate this prize for young economic historians to the memory of Francesca Carnevali (1964-2013).

This year, the prize went to Johann Ohler, for his MSc dissertation, defended at the London School of Economics, Malthus in Germany? Fertility, Mortality and Status in early-modern Germany, 1600-1850. Well done Johann!
