CFP: 8th ASE Annual Meeting: Naples, September 29-30, 2023

The Associazione per la Storia Economica (ASE) announces a Call for Papers for its 8th ASE Annual Meeting.

The meeting will be held in Naples, on September 29-30 2023, hosted by the Department of Economics and Statistics, Federico II University. For the first day, the meeting will be kindly hosted by the Fondazione Banco di Napoli. The second day will be held at the Federico II University congress center, Complesso di S. Marcellino.

The meeting will feature an Economic History Workshop, with presentation of research papers, and the ASE Keynote Lecture, which will be given by professor Robert C. Allen (NYU Abu Dhabi). Proposals for the economic history workshop should be submitted by e-mail to ase@santannapisa.it by June 15th, 2023. You can send either a draft of

your paper, or a detailed abstract of ca. 1,000 words. Accepted papers will be notified by June 30th. Each paper will be assigned to a discussant, who should receive a draft by mid-September.

We specifically encourage submissions by PhD students and young researchers, and invite all ASE associates to share the CfP with potentially interested scholars.

Note that a current ASE membership is required to attend the Annual Meeting.

September is a very busy period, so we strongly invite you to book as soon as possible your accommodation.
